Amber & Nicole
We are honored that you have considered us to be your child's parents. We have a stable and supportive network that will provide a safe and nurturing environment as well as assist us in being supportive parents. We love being "The Tias" to our friends' little ones and are excited to be "The Moms!"
Adoption in Our Lives
Adoption has affected Amber on a personal level. Amber's mom had her when she was a teenager and Amber's biological father was unable to be a part of Amber's life. Amber's mom had met Adam when they were teenagers and Adam was a part of Amber's life from very early on. Amber's mom and Adam got married when Amber was about 5 years old and shortly after Adam adopted Amber. Amber has always considered Adam her dad and was raised by him as though she was his own blood. Adam's family has also taken Amber in as though she was part of their family by blood and has never shown her anything other than love and care. Amber's brother, Connor, is actually her half brother but they have always thought of one another as full siblings. Amber's family is a big proponent of nurture and accepts one another as they are.
Nicole also grew up with a family friend that was adopted. Nicole's mom has a best friend from high school and they had an interracial adopted child. Nicole and that child grew up together. Adoption was a part of Nicole's upbringing and childhood and their families were frequently together on day trips and events. In adulthood Amber and Nicole know two close families who have both adopted and see each other often at family events.
Our Adventures

Adventuring is one of our favorite things to do as a family. That goes for the dogs, our immediate family, and extended family as well. Someone comes up with an idea of wanting to try something out and we all rally to the call! We are always looking for the next adventure and wanting to explore as much as we can. We enjoy camping, hiking, being outside, or even exploring a new city. In the summer, we can be found paddle boarding, being on a body of water, or heading up the mountains for a refreshing hike. In the winter we are conquering a new snow town and ski hill. Our dogs love to come adventuring with us and any time we are packing up to head out they are right there with us! Adventuring can happen at home too whether it be trying a new recipe, playing an adventurous video game together, or getting adventurous with a DIY project. Adventure is definitely a cornerstone of us as a family.
Cultural Diversity
We live in a culturally diverse area that has many events and opportunities to explore other cultures. Our friend group is also a melting pot of background, races, and cultures. This promotes open conversation regularly about cultural differences and a safe space to explore different views and perspectives. As parents, we will ensure that we continue our constant education and make cultural connections such as including cultural holidays, foods, and languages. Both of our professions require us to be aware of cultural diversity and do diligent research and education on this subject.

Our House and Neighborhood

We live in southern California and our neighborhood is centrally located to hiking trails, parks, schools, and close proximity to many different cities. We have children on our block that are riding their bikes or scooters, walking the dogs, having birthday parties, or just having fun! Some holidays there is a block party on the street across from ours and they have all kinds of fun events.
Our home is a 3 bedroom home and our favorite room is probably the living room. We spend a lot of our time there talking, sitting with the dogs, or admiring the view of the mountains out of our front window. We also spend a lot of our time in our backyard throwing the ball for the dogs, tending to our plants, or just relaxing in the hammock.
Around our area there is a festival that we enjoy frequenting every summer. They have carnival rides, games, and fun food. There are a few farmers markets on the weekends that we also enjoy going to.
Our Extended Families
We love to play board games with our friends and family such as Munchkin, Jenga, Rummikub, and Anomia. We make it a point to have a game night at least once a month so we can get together and play. Since our friend's baby was born we have expanded game night to go hang out with the baby as well! We also love engaging in video games with friends and find ourselves constantly looking for games for all of us to play like Mario Kart and Mario Tennis.

Nicole's mom and brother live very close by and we visit them frequently. Our dogs love going to Grandma's house and get very excited when we load them up in the car. We see Nicole's extended family for larger events and Amber's family flies in frequently and love to come out for the holidays. Whenever Amber's family is in town we always find ourselves at Disneyland! Bringing a little one to Disneyland has been the topic of discussion over the past few years and everyone involved lights up when we bring up the subject.
What makes us unique is we have found an interesting balance of play, work, and rest. Most weekends we are tackling a DIY project at home whether that be on the car or Amber giving Nicole the idea to build something new. We work hard but we definitely play hard too; we love to go hike, camp, play video games, board games, or just snuggle up with a good movie or show.

We are beyond excited to spend time with your child with our close friends, playing games and teaching them from all backgrounds. We will support them in every way and provide them with every opportunity we can. We want them to thrive. We are so excited to become parents and share our knowledge, love, and values with a little one.
