Aubin & Sean

We believe adoption is a beautiful gift, one that we have held close to our hearts through a long and meaningful journey. With love, experience, and patience, we have been building our nest and are now ready to welcome a child into our lives. We are dedicated to providing a nurturing environment where a child can thrive, grow, and feel cherished every day. Our hearts and home are open, and we're ready for this incredible journey.

Education We Will Provide

Mont St. Michel, France

We are committed to providing our child with a well-rounded education that fosters intellectual growth and emotional expression. Language will be a key part of this education, as we believe learning multiple languages is foundational for understanding different cultures. Our child will be raised to speak English, French, and Chinese, allowing them to connect with a wider world and appreciate diverse cultural perspectives.

In addition to language, we will strongly emphasize art and creativity, encouraging open-mindedness and self-expression. We both have a musical background and want to pass this passion on. Aubin plays the accordion and piano, and Sean plays the trumpet. We view music as a universal language, a powerful tool for communicating feelings in ways that words sometimes can't.

Our families are excited about our plans to expand. The child will be the first of its generation in both of our families, making it a very special part of everyone's lives. We also look forward to sharing our cultural heritage with the child through travel to France and China. These experiences will provide our child with a unique opportunity to learn about and immerse themselves in both French and Chinese ways of life, gaining a deep understanding of different cultures and environments.

Our Leisure Time

Playing Pickleball With Sean's Mom

In our leisure time, we enjoy a variety of activities that help us relax, unwind, and bond with each other. One of our favorite things is having a relaxed movie night at home—an easy way to enjoy each other's company and take a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Doing simple things like grocery shopping and cooking dinner together means a lot to us.

Weekend Workout

Living in sunny California, we make the most of the beautiful weather. Whether we're soaking up the sun at the beach, enjoying the ocean breeze, or getting active on the tennis court, we love staying active while enjoying the outdoors. We also enjoy activities like yoga and running, which help us stay fit and centered. We're always up for a new challenge, whether trying out the latest pickleball craze or tackling a hiking trail in the nearby mountains.

We enjoy DIY projects at home and take pride in caring for our garden, especially when cooking with the fresh produce we harvest. We also love hanging out with friends and trying new spots in town, from trendy cafes to hidden gems.

Traveling is another passion of ours. We enjoy exploring new places, whether it's a charming beach town or a lively city. Each trip allows us to experience new cultures, savor unique cuisines, and make unforgettable memories. In the future, we look forward to sharing these experiences with a child, and we can't wait to create new traditions and lasting memories as we grow together.

Our Cultural Heritage

We grew up in very different environments on opposite sides of the world—Aubin in France, and Sean in China—and we now live together in California. Our journey reflects not only our resilience and openness to change, but also a genuine appreciation for diverse cultures and traditions.

We proudly continue to celebrate our respective cultural holidays—like Bastille Day and Chinese New Year—while also embracing American traditions such as Thanksgiving and the Fourth of July. These shared and adopted celebrations are more than just festive days; they're opportunities to connect with loved ones, pass down stories, and create memories that blend our backgrounds into something uniquely ours.

What brought us together, despite our different upbringings, is a shared set of values: kindness, curiosity, and a deep love for family. While we each have our own interests, we see our differences as a gift—it keeps life fresh and helps us grow through each other's perspectives.

We may not have the most cinematic love story (yes, we met on a dating app!), but our bond is strong and genuine. We are excited to raise a child in a home filled with love, where multiple cultures are not just respected but celebrated—and where this child can feel confident in their identity, heritage, and sense of belonging in the world.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We've lived in different parts of Orange County, California, over the past eight years, but two years ago, we found a place to call home. We purchased a house and fully remodeled it—Aubin poured his heart into designing a warm, welcoming space that feels like the perfect nest for our growing family. With five bedrooms, there's plenty of space to host family and friends, and our favorite part is the backyard. We love spending time in the pool, grilling in the outdoor kitchen, or just soaking up the California sun with our dog, Coco.

Our neighborhood is vibrant and diverse, filled with families from all walks of life. We've become close with our neighbors and often host dinners together. We're walking distance from parks with playgrounds, schools, grocery stores, and even a horse trail, making daily strolls with Coco a treat. There are always community events happening nearby, from summer movie nights in the park to food truck festivals.

On weekends, we love taking advantage of everything Southern California has to offer—beach days just ten minutes away, skiing and snowboarding in Big Bear during the winter, or exploring cultural events in Los Angeles or San Diego. One of our favorite traditions is renting a small boat, packing snacks, and watching the sunset over the bay. It's peaceful, joyful, and a little magical—just like the future we envision with a child in our lives.

Our Extended Families

In France With Aubin's Family

Aubin grew up in Nantes, France, a city known for its rich history, where his family still lives. Sean is from Chengdu, China, a city famous for its pandas, and his family is still based there. We typically travel once or twice a year to visit and occasionally bring both sides of the family together in one place, always resulting in lively, joy-filled reunions.

In China With Sean's Family

Even though we live in different time zones, we make it a priority to stay in touch with our families on a weekly, if not daily, basis. Aubin spent several years in China and has a deep understanding of Sean’s family traditions, which have brought them very close. Sean is learning French so he can better communicate with Aubin’s family.

Our families also visit us regularly, often staying for several weeks, so we can fully enjoy the California lifestyle together.

Welcoming a child into our lives fills us with deep gratitude and anticipation. Aubin has a brother and a sister, both of whom live in France and are excited to become an aunt and uncle. Even more special, this will be the first grandchild on both sides—so you can imagine how excited (and ready) our families are to surround this child with love, culture, and unforgettable memories.

From Us to You

Thank you for taking the time to read our letter. We know that you are facing an incredibly important and emotional decision, and we want to begin by saying how much we respect your strength, love, and courage. We are deeply honored that you are considering us to be part of your child's life.

We have been preparing for this moment for a few years now. After much thought, many conversations, and deep reflection, we are ready to open our hearts and our home to a child. Adoption is something we see as an act of love-by you, for your child-and if we are chosen, we promise to return that love tenfold.

We have been together for eight years and married for the last three. Our relationship is rooted in trust, mutual respect, and a shared sense of joy. We are truly best friends, and we love building a life together. We talk through everything, celebrate the little moments, and support each other through challenges. We believe this foundation will create a safe and loving home for a child to grow and thrive.

We are in a stage of our life where we feel ready-emotionally and practically-to raise a child. We have the material and non-material resources needed to provide a nurturing and stable home. We live in a neighborhood full of parks, libraries, and great schools. More than that, we are surrounded by a loving extended family and a supportive community who are ready to welcome a child with open arms. Our future child will grow up surrounded by grandparents to spoil them, and friends who will be like family.

Both of us have a lot to teach. We believe in raising a child who is curious, kind, confident, and grounded. We want to create a home where books are read every night, questions are always welcomed, and where love is felt every single day. We are excited to share our passions-traveling, music, learning languages, cooking together, spending time in nature-and we are equally excited to learn from our future child and support them in becoming exactly who they are meant to be.

We understand that this decision comes with a lot of emotions and unknowns. We want to assure you that, if we are fortunate enough to be chosen, we will keep you connected to your child's life. We will send regular letters and pictures, so you can see how your child is growing and thriving. We are also open to more contact-whether that's emails, phone calls, or even annual visits-if that is something you are comfortable with. Before the baby is born, we would be glad to talk on the phone, exchange emails, or meet in person if that feels right to you.

We will raise this child knowing where they came from. We will speak of you with the deepest respect and gratitude. Your child will grow up knowing that your decision was made out of love, and that they are doubly loved-by both their birth family and their adoptive one.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for considering us. This decision takes incredible strength, and we are holding space for you with compassion and respect. If you feel we are the right family to raise your child, we would be honored to walk this path with you. No matter what your journey looks like, we wish you peace, clarity, and support every step of the way. You are not alone.

With love and respect,

Aubin & Sean
