Jonas & Kelly

Hi there! We are a laid-back, down home kind of couple living in Louisiana. You're likely considering many options right now. We know whatever decision you make will be out of the immense love you have for your baby. We truly hope you feel an incredible peace with your decision. We're grateful for the opportunity to share a little about ourselves with you as you consider the future for your child. Thank you!

Adoption in Our Lives

Happy Together

When Kelly was young, she found out one of her grandfathers was adopted. After her mom explained what adoption was, Kelly knew immediately that she would adopt someday too. She later found out an older cousin was adopted, her second grade teacher adopted a baby (that she was able to meet), and a few families at her church also adopted about that same time. This just solidified the desire inside her to adopt.

Kelly mentioned her desire to adopt early in their relationship and Jonas readily agreed with the idea! Without knowing what the future held, the excitement surrounding adoption Kelly had as a young child, became very important to us as a married couple. Kelly's inability to conceive or carry a child seemed like just a little bump in the road to becoming parents. We happily pivoted to adoption and are very much looking forward to welcoming your little one into our home one day.

Fun Facts About Us:

Taking a Break at the Air Force Museum

  • Kelly loves kids! She worked in children's ministry as a teacher, as well as on the drama and puppet teams for about 12 years. She also worked in daycare for about 2 years.
  • Jonas is thrilled with anything space and aviation. He's been to several space centers and air museums. He can't wait to share trips like this with his future family!
  • Kelly enjoys trying new recipes, as well as baking family favorites like Pumpkin Bread at Thanksgiving and Ginger Molasses cookies at Christmas.
  • Jonas doesn't sing in public, but knows the words to almost every old country song and frequently sings or whistles around the house.
  • Kelly is often caught dancing along to music as she cleans the house. She also admits to listening to Christmas music all year long.
  • Jonas loves making new parts and gadgets on his mill or lathe in his shop. He's found working there often!
  • Kelly is a gamer. She plays board games, cards, and video games. Growing up, her family had Friday game night with fun foods like tacos and pizza. This is a tradition we'd like to continue with our own family.
  • Jonas is shy in public, but at home he is always making jokes and doing things to make people laugh. He'll randomly go through an entire conversation using only song lyrics, just to be silly.
  • How We Met

Jonas and Kelly met in 2016 on Valentine's weekend through an online dating site. Kelly took a chance and messaged Jonas after a co-worker had dared her to give dating another try. He answered, and by the end of the week, we had moved from messaging to calling each other. One thing led to another and here we are – married later in 2016 and having the best time! As we dated and talked about marriage, we had a common theme – we both knew we wanted to be parents and start our own family someday. While neither of us had any idea what the future held, we knew having a little one join our family was something we both wanted.

    Our House and Neighborhood

    Our Home

We call our home an "Oasis in the Pines"! We built our home on Jonas' grandfather's land and cannot think of any better place to raise a family. We have three bedrooms, two full baths and a large open living space. And even though your little one hasn't arrived yet, we have already picked out his or her room and cannot wait to decorate! We also have a backyard that we have cleared and prepared for some serious playing to take place once your little one is older!

    Christmas in Our Home

Fun Fact: There are three generations of Jonas' family that have homes on this land! There are 120 acres with lots of woods, trails, fishing pond, a big hayfield (where Jonas likes to go fly his remote-control jet) and more trees than you can imagine! We are a short trek to each other's homes and feel incredibly lucky to have them close by.

We love our country life and are grateful that we can call this beautiful place our home.

    Our Extended Families

    Jonas' Parents

Both Jonas' parents and Kelly's parents have been married for over 40 years. Jonas is an only child but spent a lot of time with his cousins. All of Jonas' extended family actually lives here in town and we get to see them often!

Every Thanksgiving, both sides of Jonas' family get together at his parent's camper at the park. We spend the day outside talking, playing games, eating (lots of eating!), and at night, we gather around the campfire and make party plans for Christmas.

    Kelly's Parents & Grandmother

Kelly's parents and grandma live in Michigan. Even though we aren't able to see each other as much as we'd like, we talk often. We try to visit every summer and her extended family meets up for a picnic reunion by Lake Michigan. Kelly's brother and sister-in-law, along with his adopted stepson, and daughter live in Indiana.

Both of our families are super excited to meet your little one!

We also have a spoiled black and white cat named Miss Kitty (Kelly calls her Kiki). She looks forward to meeting your little one, too!

    From Us to You

Thank you so much for reading our profile. We have always dreamed of becoming parents and can't wait to share our love, faith and lives with your child. You are making our dreams of becoming parents come true. We can never thank you enough for that!

We have been married since 2016 and grow closer every day. We truly are best friends and enjoy spending most of our free time together! Our hope is to continue using these quality moments together with your little one, growing strong family bonds that will give him or her a sense of security and confidence as they grow up. We want them to enjoy life, to pursue their dreams and most importantly to know how absolutely loved they are!

We are also excited to share our love of traveling! We have both been on many road trips during our lives, including trips to Disney World, the Air Zoo, multiple Space Centers, the Smithsonian Museum and numerous other museums and parks. Kelly has actually visited 42 different states! We cannot wait to share our travels with your little one and let them make some incredible memories of their own.

While at home, we like to spend time swimming at Jonas' parent's house, going four-wheeling on the trails through the woods, working in the garden, or sitting on the back deck looking up at the stars. These simple moments are important to us and can be amazing times for bonding together and enjoying nature as a family.

We are very lucky that Kelly can be a stay-at-home mom. It has been a dream of hers to be a homemaker, but also to be home teaching! We both wish to pursue home-schooling for the education for our future family. Though Jonas did go to public school, Kelly was home-schooled from 3rd grade until she went to college. It was an amazing time in her life that provided so many opportunities for learning! Many of her History, Geography and even some Science studies were in person visits to historical sites and museums on the several roads trips her family took. Being able to see things right in front of you, instead of just reading it in a book, adds so much to the learning experience. This is one of the many reasons we wish to home-school. We do intend to be part of a home-school group as well, for occasional group classes, field trips, plays, and sports opportunities. Kelly's nephew (now graduated) and niece have an amazing homeschool group as well and love the program!

Our whole family is excited to gain a new member and looks forward to meeting him or her! The little one would be the first grandchild and great-grandchild on Jonas' side of the family. He or she would be grandchild number three on Kelly's side. We have lost count as to how many great-grandkids it is on Kelly's side of the family, but our little one will be just as loved and welcomed as the rest of them. No such thing as too many babies for a great-grandma to spoil!

We can imagine as you carry your little one that you worry about communication and updates about your child. We are committed to providing you with the updates you desire. We would love nothing more than to send photos, videos and updates throughout the years. You are the child's first love and hold a special place in our hearts and minds. The love you have for your child will always be shared with him or her throughout the years.

We want what is best for them. If chosen, we want him or her to understand from the first moment that they were adopted. It will never be a secret; it is something to be celebrated, a part of who they are. It's their story. You are also part of their story, and we never want to take that from them. We will share age-appropriate details of their story and answer questions with honesty and openness as they grow and desire to learn more.

We hope this gives you a good idea as to who we are and of the life we would provide for your child if chosen. Thank you for spending a few moments getting to know us! We are grateful for this chance to introduce ourselves to you.
